The Matt Platt Trio were formed in July 2000. Matt had been playing and sessioning for many years, and was keen to start a new venture, the jazz funk style of MP3 took Matthew where he wanted to be.

Matt Platt, keyboards, Damon Sawer, drums and Jerry Soffe, bass formed the backbone of the band. MP3 are a full time professional musicians, specialising in Jazz, Funk, Latin and Blues, as featured on 'Back to Front', Matt's latest original Album

Featured on 'Back to Front' are guest performers Stuart Henderson on trumpet, Anatoily Yvacheslavov on tenor saxaphone, Bernie Marsden and Louis Da'Gostino on guitars. When playing live, MP3 can grow to a 6 piece, adding horns and vocals, forming MP3+. MP3+ features vocalists of which the most popular with the band and audience alike is Graham Dee.
